We are proud to have started the shipbuilding industry in 1987, under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, as he is the main supporter for this industry.
Therefore, our efforts were culminated by establishing Al Fattan Group of companies in 2009. Since then the company grew to be one of the national entities capable of building world-class products. We are a strategic partner to the Government of Abu Dhabi and we contribute to the developing the Maritime industry. We are working hard to meet the increasing demand in building and maintaining multi-use vessels, not only in the GCC countries but worldwide. We also provide technical support to the national and private sectors, as well as training locals and expats in the shipbuilding fields.

BRIEF HISTORY
AFMS is equipped to build a future together with its people, partners, shareholders, clients, suppliers, community, and environment.
AFMS has been reborn to a new level of accountability. It has expanded from a 10-year division service provider of a company to a newly established one. It has matured its own foundation with the learning experience it gained within a company. Since the growth of the Marine Division through its own effort, it has sailed into its own company. The Chairman’s decision together with its board members has been a great opportunity for AFMS to become more effective and efficient in providing services to its clients. It is more than ready to endeavor a wider range of markets and to embrace the opportunity of sailing on its own. AFMS is equipped to build a future together with its people, partners, shareholders, clients, suppliers, community, and environment.

Our Facilities
AFMS main yard is located in Al Sader Port, Al Taweelah, Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates with an area of more than 300,000 square meters and has multiple lengths of berths with the capacity of fabricating up to 20,000 metric tons (mt) of steel per year AFMS has 15 fleets that are highly maintained and ready to be deployed as per client’s needs.
